My Focus Areas

1. LGBTQ+ Ally

It is my desire to provide support for those who have family members or friends in the LGBTQ+ community. I will encourage you as you learn more about this amazing community. I have personal experience navigating the process of deconstructing the negative things I was taught as I relearned how to make space for and find joy in the people in my life that are LGBTQ+. I will empower you as you expand your knowledge and understanding of the LGBTQ+ community. If you want to become an LGBTQ+ ally and you have the desire to make space for and celebrate the people of the LGBTQ+ community, allow me to be the person who offers you assistance and accountability as you take that journey of self-reflection and growth toward love and support.

2. Faith Transitions

As a person who transitioned out of the church I had belonged to my entire life, I know first hand how disorienting and heart-wrenching it is to question the very things that guided your whole life. I know the loneliness of suddenly not belonging to the community that was like family. Whether you have just entered a faith transition, or you left your faith years ago and still find it to be difficult, or you are struggling because someone close to you has left your faith, I can be an impartial support in navigating the grief and confusion that comes with any of these challenging situations. Allow me to ask you empowering questions that bring you out of the anger, sadness, and loneliness you may feel, and into your new reality. It is important in my journey not to burn bridges with those I love…after all, it is the system, not the people, that I left. It is my hope that I can guide you through this process to find understanding and peace with those you love, and most importantly, within yourself. I will make space for where you are, support you in what you believe, and help you navigate the direction you want to go.

3. Parenting

One area of my life that I hope to encourage others in is parenting and the challenges that come with raising children. I have gone through the many stages of parenting, from infancy all the way to independent adult, and have, at times, never felt more alone than when I have been in the trenches with my children. The natural transitions that parents face as their children grow older and become more independent can be difficult and disorienting. We, as parents, may be left wondering what our role and purpose is through each stage of development. I want to help you set your parenting goals, give encouragement to you during the toughest transitions, and help guide you to a place where parenting is no longer lonely or stressful, but a joyful and beautiful journey to be enjoyed.
